Description
The track bar is the most important link under the front end of a straight axle,heavy-duty truck. It’s both a suspension and steering component, and any deflection in the baror wear in the bushings is immediately felt by the driver in the form of excessive steering input,floating front end, wandering, and worst of all—the dreaded death wobble. Lifting the truck onlyincreases stress, pulling the axle off-center and magnifying these issues.
Enter the Carli Adjustable Track Bar. The goal: engineer a link that deflectsless than stock, dampens vibrations without sloppy handling, offers far greater service life,and remains fully rebuildable (vs. replaceable like the factory bar). On top of that, it’sadjustable to properly center the axle on leveled trucks.
The DATB Track Bar is built from 3/8″ wall DOM tubing, far stronger than thebrackets it bolts to. The bar itself is threaded to accept a massive 1″ x 7/8″ FK BearingChromoly RSMX14T Heim Joint. Unlike competitors running thinner wall tubes and weld-inbungs, this design eliminates a welded joint, adds strength, and increases shear resistance.
Instead of a standard jam nut, Carli designed the JAMMIT Nut, a tapered jam nutwith a matching machined taper in the bar end. This ensures perfect centering of the joint andprovides 100% more friction surface area for maximum clamping force and reliability.
At the frame end, the CUB Joint sets this track bar apart. It starts with a7/8″ FK Uniball encapsulated in custom-molded bushings, pressed into a gusseted housing,secured with a stainless safety washer and snap ring. This design eliminates installation errorscommon with previous hat-bushing designs and guarantees preload for long service life—even withimpact gun installation.
To handle extended suspension travel, the bar’s bend at the axle side requires steeringstabilizer relocation. Unlike most aftermarket bars, Carli includes a stabilizerrelocation bracket to ensure proper clearance.
